From the President (November/December 2024)
Hi Folks, Hard to believe that the year is coming to an end and it’s almost time to put away the cars for the winter. We’ll continue to have meetings and events, just might have to drive our other cars/trucks to those and when opportunities arise and the weather cooperates maybe we can bust out the Vettes for a day.

I think this year has been another successful one for the club, we had many good times with great people. I would like to personally thank my fellow officers, Ben, Jeannie and Cyndi. They did a great job and I truly appreciate the support they gave me this year. They were able to help out when needed and kept our books and records up to date. Billie, Larry and Debbie did a great job of setting up the monthly meetings, pre-meetings and socials. Dave was able to keep the website up and running which is our main avenue for communicating the monthly activities and news so please take the time to check it out. Jason did a great job of getting the Gazette put together. The Gazette provides a recap of the club activities and other news. Bob handled nearly 30 new memberships this year and provided their welcome packets and name tags. Steve continued his great work in getting pictures at our events with help from Billie in those instances he wasn’t able to make it. It’ll be interesting to see how many action shots were taken (mainly people putting food into their mouths 😊). The pictures are on the website and labeled by event. He’ll also be putting together the calendar for 2025. Karl was able to keep us up to date on the museum’s activities.

I would also like to thank you, the members, that make this club so special. I have truly enjoyed my time as president this year as it has given me the opportunity to meet and talk with you. We’ve had really good turnouts for the various events over the past 10 months and I’m hoping this will continue. As I mentioned, we’ve added about 30 new members this year thanks to you letting others know about our club.

I also want to express my many thanks to those members that have taken the time to arrange and organize the trips, drives and other activities that are outside our normal monthly activities. We did solicit ideas for things to do next year and had a great response from all of you. Probably more than we could do in one year but we’ll work on doing as much as possible. I’m really looking forward to them because they do sound like a lot of fun. If you happen to think of something you would like to do, please feel free to bring it up. Member involvement is what the club is all about. We have a really great group of people and having fun comes pretty naturally.

We also did a great job of raising money for our charity this year and will present them with a check for over $6,000! We’ll be selecting a charity for 2025 in November so please remember to vote for your choice during the upcoming election.

Here’s wishing everyone a happy and joyous holiday season!!!

Don
