From the President (November/December)
Hello Fellow Members,

As the year winds down and the weather starts to turn colder, and our activities slow down a little I thought that I would take this opportunity to thank my fellow officers and chairpersons for their continued support and their efforts to make the club successful. This will also give you an opportunity to know a little more about what each is involved in.

Teddy Lowder has been a great asset in handling the duties of Vice President and making sure our members are adorned in the finest Corvette Club attire. She filled in for me when I wasn’t available and things continued smoothly under her guidance. .

Jeannie Hoover, as Secretary, has been great at keeping track of the things we’ve done and the attendees at each of the events. In case you aren’t aware, members are awarded a point for attending the various club events. She is responsible for maintaining this count so that a Member of the Year can be chosen based on the highest point total. She’s also the one that sends out the awesome birthday cards as well as any other cards that may be appropriate. .

Cyndi Schmidt, as Treasurer, has been great at keeping track of our books by getting invoices sent out, money collected and accounted for as well as making sure our bills are paid. She will not be seeking reelection next year and her shoes will be hard to fill, yet I’m confident her replacement will continue the good work. .

The event chairpersons, Larry and Debbie Van Wagoner and Billie Ramey have kept everyone busy with all the monthly activities as well as those special occasion events and drives. They probably have the most time-consuming positions and I’m hoping to come up with a plan to take some of that burden off their shoulders in the coming year. .

Ben Opfermann, as Membership Chair, has done a great job of getting new members’ packets sent out and ensuring members with upcoming significant anniversaries are celebrated. .

Steve DeSmet, Club Historian, was busy all year taking pictures to ensure we all have the opportunity to look back at the fun trips, activities and food we’ve enjoyed. If you’re eating, he’s watching. .

Dave Ohlson, Webmaster, has done a great job of keeping the website up and functional. There was a major issue this year with the site being hacked but after hours of work he, along with a couple of other members, was able to get things back to normal. .

Jason Henry, Gazette Editor/Publisher, has done a fantastic job of getting the gazette put together and ready for publication. His artistic flair has made them something members look forward to every couple of months. .

Walt Penegar, National Corvette Museum Liaison, has been great at keeping the club up to date on the goings on in Bowling Green. .

I would also like to thank you, the club members, for all that you do to make the club as enjoyable as it’s been this year. .

As always, if you have any concerns, questions or suggestions please feel free to reach out. .

Don
