| Description: | We have an exciting end-of-summer trip planned! Please join John and Judy Ledkins for a CCU cruise, Wednesday August 24 - Sunday August 28. (Heads up: This is the weekend before Labor Day weekend.)

Call the hotels, as we have room blocks with great CCU rates! Just so you are not worried, this trip will not involve hiking. Just short walks from the Vettes. And we will always have someone from our group watching our Vettes while we walk to the waterfalls. We will see most of the waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge without even leaving our Vettes. Wednesday, August 24th. We will leave the Smiths at 655 W 5300 S in SLC at 8AM and meet up with the north group at Flying J in Willard Bay at 9AM. Stopping at the Old Idaho Penitentiary Site. We leave Hines and travel to Bend and Sisters, Oregon, to Sahalie and Koosah waterfalls, and then on to beautiful Cascade Locks, Oregon. This is a beautiful Best Western on the Columbia River that is very clean, with excellent beds. We have a block of 15 rooms at a CCU discounted rate. (Pets are allowed. If you are allergic, request a top floor where pets are not allowed.) NOTE: Between the hotel and the river, a train comes through regularly. It is awesome for the ambiance of the area. We love it! But if you are a light sleeper, ask for a NON-view room. Friday. August 26th. We'll be visiting Vista House, Old Columbia River Hwy, Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls, Bridge of the Gods, Columbia Gorge interpretive center museum. And it's the perfect time of year to stop by the many fruit stands on the Hood River Fruit Loop. Orchards, bakeries, distilleries, country stores. We'll stop at the Antique airplane and automobile museum. Then on to beautiful La Grande Oregon. Call Best Western Plus Rama Inn & Suites, (541) 963-3100, breakfast included. We have a block of 15 rooms, at a discounted CCU rate. Pet free, smoke free. Saturday, August 27th. We're headed to beautiful Joseph Oregon to check out the annual Wallowa Mountain Cruise car show. We'll stop by Wallowa Lake, and the Matterhorn Swiss Village. Then on to Hells Canyon (we will only be crossing the canyon, not going up or down it), and beautiful McCall Idaho. If we get in early enough, there is an art show going on in town. Sunday. August 28th. We're headed home via beautiful, scenic byways.
